Antique Gustav Becker Bracket Clock Westminster Chimes Runs Strikes & Chimes P14 Movement 8 Strike Hammers. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! Beautiful Czech made walnut case clock. The maker is Gustav Becker and the movement has "P14" on it. This clock dates to the mid to latter 1920s, about the time that the Junghans Clock Company was acquiring them.

Explains why says German instead of Czech made. The wood case is all there. Nice twin columns on either side of the clock face.

Nice fluted columns on front corners. The case shows some minor finish loss most notably along the corner edges, still looks good. Beveled glass in the front wood door, no cracks or blistering.

Nice detailing to the case on the front, sides and especially to the arched top on it. The rear door is securely attached to the case.

The knob is there on the door. The ball catch is not in place and needs some attention. One of the brass plates that holds the wood clock front face on is missing. We have only wiped down the wood case with Murphy's wood cleaner and orange oil, could still used a good cleaning to bring the original beauty of this piece out to its' full potential. Nice looking face on this clock.

Gold colored with incised details on the plate around the clock face. Black incised numbering, some minor finish loss. The elegant clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock.

The hands to turn the strike on and off work as does the time adjustment component. Great looking 8 day brass movement on this clock. This is a P14 eight day brass movement. The clock has a great beat to it with the pendulum off and on it.

The GB initials and the logo are on the back plate of the movement. The number "859" is on the center bottom back plate of the movement.

"Gustav Becker Germany" is also impressed on to the left bottom of the back plate of the movement. The clock movement has been running, striking, and chiming since we acquired the clock. Just cleaned the pivot points and bushings and oiled them. Four strike rods and hammers for the chime and another 4 strike hammers and rods for the hour strike.

One of the chime hammers is not hitting the rod quite right and a little off tune. The three springs feel sound when keyed. This clock is in running, striking and chiming condition. The clock will come with a wind key.

This was definitely a quality clock for its' time. The clock stands 17" tall, by 12.75" across, by 8.5 wide. The clock face is 5.25 across.

You will not find such a fine example of this clock maker's work available very often, so do not miss this one. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
