Herschede Model 20 Pendulum Westminster Mantle Chime Clock. Panama Pacific International Exposition 1915. The case is 9 tall, 6 wide and 20 ¾ and in good original condition. The cabinet is dark mahogany and has not been refinished. Cosmetically, it looks good for its age but shows some surface wear and discoloration.
This Herschede clock won the grand prize at The Worlds Fair (The Panama-Pacific International Exposition) held in San Francisco between February 20 and December 04, 1915. A metal plate attached to the back door reads. The Herschede Hall Clock Co. The clock was recently serviced and is fully functional. Its Westminster Chimes are delightful and it chimes on the hour, as well as every quarter-hour, and also rings the hour.It has a silencing lever to turn the chimes off, in which case it continues to ring on the hour. Instructions are inside the back door.
The clock comes with key & the original pendulum. I don't know if the key is original but it does work. The hinge on the front glass cover was repaired and the cover closes fully.
