The maker is Jungans and the movement has "A 07" on it, so the clock was made in first half of 1907. The wood case is all there. Shows some finish loss, still looks good. Nice spiral trim columns on front corners and pressed detailing on the door around the clock face. Beveled glass in the front wood door, no cracks or blistering.
Nice detailing to the mahogany case on the front, sides and especially the top of it. Has a great style look to it with the pointed pitched steeple top. The case has wood legs on it that look appropriate to the clock as well. The rear door is securely attached to the case.
The latch on the rear door needs some attention. We have only wiped down the wood case with Murphy's wood cleaner and orange oil, could still used a good cleaning to bring the original beauty of this piece out to its' full potential. Nice looking face on this clock. Silver colored with black numbering, some finish loss. The clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. Gold trim around the clock face. The hands to turn the strike on and off work as does the time adjustment component. Great looking 8 day brass movement on this clock. The clock has a great beat to it with the pendulum off and on it. The clock movement has been running, striking, and chiming since we acquired the clock. Just cleaned the pivot points and bushings and oiled them. Five strike rods and hammers are in good shape. The three springs feel sound when keyed.
This clock is in running, striking and chiming condition. The movement has the "Junghans" logo on the back of the movement and "Ao7" below that. Also has Germany impressed under that.
The pendulum that came with the clock also looks appropriate to it. The clock was made in 1907.
The clock will come with a wind key. The beveled glass and brass bezel door over the clock face look great. The glass is not blistered or cracked.
The bezel is firmly attached to the clock case by its' hinges. The bezel is made out of some sort of gold colored metal appears to be brass. The pin to open the door is there, but not sure if there is a latch in the door to secure the front door. The case still has what appear to be the original wood legs on it. This was definitely a quality clock for its' time.
The rear door is still firmly attached to the case. The fabric is on the inside of the rear door, but does show wear.
The latch for the rear door is still there and operates. The hinges look appropriate on the front and rear doors.
The clock stands 18-3/8" tall, by 13.25" across, by 9-3/8 wide. You will not find such a fine example of this clock maker's work available very often, so do not miss this one.
