Antique Sessions Westminster Chime Clock, Lovely Red Mahogany Case, Runs Great

Thank You very much for viewing my listing! I believe that "elbow grease" and paste wax produces a better result than a can of paint or varnish. I strive to retain the historical value of the clock, keeping original parts and exterior finish when possible.

I have accumulated many wonderful clocks and need to sell several so I can continue my hobby, bringing old clocks back to life. All of the clocks that I will be listing have been running and chiming accurately in my home. They may require some adjustment in your house for accuracy. For your consideration is this lovely red mahogany Sessions Westminster Chime Tambour Clock, circa 1940. This is a display quality beauty, as it is unrestored and very clean, inside and out!! Slight dial damage, (hardly noticeable) around the 4 o'clock winding hole from key kickback when the mainspring broke, the spring was broken when I received it, I installed a new spring in August. It stands 9.5" tall by 21" wide and 5.5 deep.

The lovely red mahogany case is a rare color, the wood is perfect and the varnish finish shows very little wear, is even throughout. The front features triangle inlay astride the lower dial and carved chain molding across the bottom. The case sits flat and sturdy on fancy carved ogee lower plates and scratch resistant pads, without wobbling. The rear access door it is solid and tight with the original instruction label affixed inside. The 6 silvered dial features large raised gold Arabic numerals with black overlay which make the numbers stand out.

The brass bezel is original and polished, it closes securely after winding. The crystal is convex glass, it is clear and blemish free. The movement is original, It chimes the Westminster notes every 15 minutes sequentially on 4 rods (gold bell gift stamps tune, if you're old enough to remember) and announces the hour on a single resonating rod. It is clean, tight and newly oiled, it runs and strikes accurately. Comes with the original pendulum bob and replacement key.

This clock will come to your home ready to display, just place it on a near level surface, hang the pendulum bob and enjoy it for years to come!
