We are therefore better positioned to control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don't have the overhead that the higher end houses and clock shops pass on to their clients. This is a very sought after maker's clock.
The cherry wood case has a lot of its' original elegance. There are three doors on the front of the clock. One over the face, one over the mid-section, and one where the pendulum is. All 3 latches are in place.Owner's plate done in gold colored lacquer is on the bottom door on the front, see pic. Nice wood stick for the pendulum and good looking gold colored lacquer finish on the pendulum bob.
The brass leveler plates are on the bottom of the case, as are the two leveling screws. A piece of the veneer under one of the levelers was broken off and glued back into place at one time. Nice intact front and side glass pieces on this case. All the glass that is in place is good, with with no blistering or cracks. The clock face is made of metal and has an antique white finish to it. Has the Hamilton name on script on the face. He clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. Also has a seconds face with that hand in place and operating as well. The clock was made by Hamilton of Lancaster, PA in the early 1980s. Has 682 on the back of the wood case for June 1982. The brass shelled leaded weight for the time is in place. The strike and time parts of the movement are powered by spring winds. The clock comes with a nice wind key, see pic. The hanger plate is not on the back of this case, hanged by center hole in bottom of clock face section to test.
There is no representation that the clock is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order. The clock stands 44.75" tall, by 12" across, by 7.75 wide. The clock face is 6-5/8.
