Howard Miller Vienna Regulator 612-462 Westminster Chime Oak Wall Clock
Howard Miller Vienna Regulator 612-462. An authentic interpretation of a popular Austrian clock from. Features distinctive to this particular period are the enamel. And brass dial, glass side panels, and a temperature-compensating. Pendulum with an R/A (Retard/Advance) porcelain insert over brass beat plate. Howard Miller has executed this clock in solid oak with an. Attractive carved pediment and full Westminster chime key wound. Key-wound chime on-the-hour strike and quarter-hour progressive 4-8-12 chime. The melody gets longer with each quarter hour then counts out the time at the top of the hour. The three arbors on the face, wind the three springs which power the time, quarter hour, and hour chimes. The center is the time spring. The quarter hour spring is on the right. As with all 8-day clocks, you just wind once a week. Nice sound, keeps good time and chimes perfectly. Set in my house I wind it every 6 to 7 days and it is has never been over a minute off between windings. Speed is adjusted by turning the nut under the pendulum bob.
Raising the bob by turning clockwise from below will cause the clock to speed up. Pendulum clocks are the most accurate by virtue of gravity and momentum.
NOTE door had a previous presentation plate at one time on the lower cross member. That was removed and the wood is darker in that area. See Photos of front door.
