It features the legendary Seth Thomas No. 124 movement, widely considered the "gold standard" of American-made chime movements for its durability and rich sound.
Authentic Date Stamp: The movement and case are stamped C552, dating this clock's manufacture to March 1952. This makes it one of the final "True American" Seth Thomas models before production shifted to imported movements in 1956. Classic Westminster Chime: Every 15 minutes, the clock plays the iconic melody on 4 resonant metal chime rods, with a full melody and hour strike at the top of the hour. Ready to Display: The movement was rebuilt a few years ago by an expert clockmaker in Virginia. It was removed and completely overhauled.
All the wear parts were replaced. The movement keeps time, chimes, and runs smoothly.
Original Branded Key: Includes the authentic, Seth Thomas-stamped winding key (double-ended for winding and speed adjustment). Condition: The mahogany-finish case is in beautiful condition with a clear dial and original "Silent/Chime" selector. The clock face has a few small scuffs-see pictures. Contact me with any questions!
