Antique Burr Walnut Westminster Chime Mantel Clock With Brass Caddy Top Garrard. This lovely mantel clock has a burr walnut case with a lovely rich colour and grain. The top of the case has a stunning brass "caddy" section with a shaped carry handle and fantastic detail. There are then four finials to each corner and a shaped moulding to the top edge.

The body of the case is then square with glass viewing windows to the sides as well as mouldings around the front glass window. Finally there is a further moulding to the base as well as four thin wooden feet.

The dial is then brass with a silvered chapter ring set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes and every five minutes marked in Arabic numerals. The centre of the dial is then pitted brass with four maidens head spandrils to each corner. Finally the dial is finished by two shaped hands as well a protective glass set into the door. The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It ticks away and chimes as it should.

It chimes the first quarter of the tune on the half past, second on the half past, third on the quarter to, then the full tune as well as the number of hours on the hour via gongs.
