ANTIQUE HERSCHEDE HALL WESTMINSTER CHIME MANTEL CLOCK MADE IN USA NICE CONDITION RARE! This clock was a grand prize at The Worlds Fair (The Panama-Pacific International Exposition) held in San Francisco between February 20 and December 04, 1915. The Fair celebrated the completion of the Panama Canal; also, the city used the Fair to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake. Has a metal plate attached to the back door which reads. The Herschede Hall Clock Co.

Panama Pacific International Exposition 1915. The cabinet on this clock has a dark mahogany finish which has a textured look. Cosmetically, it looks very good for its age.

It has a jeweled lever. I have owned it for many years but never ran it.

Before advertising the clock I decided to wind it to see if it would run. I wound it enough to run it for about 3 days; however, it gained approx an hour per day even though I tried to adjust it by moving the adjustment on the hairspring, but it did not make any difference. It would not slow down and I could not regulate the time. Clock has Westminster sterling chime. This clock strikes and chimes on the hour.

It also chimes every 15 minutes. If, at times, you do not want to hear it chime it does have a silencing lever on the face at the 3 oclock position. If you prefer it will not chime, but it will continue to strike on the hour.

The clock measures approx 22" long, 10.5" high and 7deep. Please refer to the photos as they are part of my description. Thank you for looking at our listing.
