Offered for your consideration is this Junghans "Carol" model 8-day Westminster Chiming Mantel/Bracket Clock. It has been fully serviced and tested and is ready to provide many years of mechanical Time-keeping with Westminster quarterly chiming/hour striking for its new owner. The chime function can be turned off if desired. The clock measures approximately 18 3/4" in height, 12" in width, 8 1/2 in depth and weighs in at 15 pounds 10 ounces.

Please note that this movement (A-07, manufactured during first half of 1907) does not have a chime self-correction function. If the chimes become upset, the owner will need to resync them so that they agree with the time shown by the hands. This is simple to do and the need to resync should seldom come up unless one forgets to either re-wind the clock weekly, or stop it before it runs out of power.

Our servicing included complete disassembly, cleaning, pivot resurfacing (one pivot was replaced), bushings where needed, cleaning, inspection, lubrication and testing of all three mainsprings. Clock was reassembled, properly lubricated, bench tested for a full week, and tested again once fully assembled for another full week.

Maltese hands were selected and used to replace mis-matched hands. A properly sized winding key was obtained for this clock. All other parts, including thick beveled glass, are believed to be original. Please note that there has been some type of repair to the top of the case. It looks like the damaged wood was securely glued back together so it was left as is.

The case, chime rods, glass and face were all carefully cleaned. The mahogany case was given several coats of paste wax.

Junghans is known for their well-tuned, resonant chime rods. This clock is no exception.
