Antique Mauthe Westminster Chiming Wall Clock

8-Day Westminster Chime Wall Clock. 8-Day Westminster Chime Wall Clock designed and manufactured by Friedrich Mauthe in Germany. The wooden case has a dark finish with a formed and curved glass crystal inset near the bottom allowing for easy viewing of the brass pendulum as it swings back and forth.

The side of the case is actually a hinged wood frame door that is secured with a metal latch on the side. There is a convex glass crystal inset into the door that allows access to the three winding holes on the dial... One for the time, one for the chime, and one for the hour, The metal dial has a brass outer bezel and a goldtone backdrop featuring large black Roman numeral time markers and fancy metal hands. The name, "Mauthe" is signed on the dial in their familiar calligraphic logo script, and below that, "Made in Germany".

The clock is equipped with a pendulum style, key wound movement and runs for about 8 days on a single wind. It plays a beautiful Westminster chime melody.... Four notes at the quarter hour, eight notes at the half hour, twelve notes at the 3/4 hour, and the full sixteen note melody at the top of each hour.

The clock will then chime the hour. It is previously owned and in beautiful working condition. A universal winding key will be included.
