USA, right around 100 years ago. It has a very complicated (signed New Haven) movement that appears mechanically sound and complete. We wound it up and it does run at least for awhile, and the quarter hour and hours chimes do work well. This clock was well cared for and probably spent its earlier days in a mansion or perhaps sat on a lawyer's office mantle. As seen in the pictures, it is an impressive looking clock.
It is a bit oversized, measuring 22 ¾" long x 11" high x 6 ¼ deep. In case you are not familiar with Westminster Chimes, these are the ones that play a tune every 15 minutes; 4 notes on the quarter; 8 notes on the ½ hour; 12 notes at the ¾ hour; and then the full 16 note tune on the hour, followed by the hour toll, i. 1 toll at 1:00, 2 tolls at 2:00, etc.The larger 6 ½ dial, brass bezel and beveled glass crystal are also in nice condition. This clock comes complete with a key and the original pendulum. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem.
All sales are final (with the exception noted below). It is nearly impossible to find one in "mint" condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. If a clock is running properly when it arrives, that is about the best we can do.
