Please consider this antique Seth Thomas 8 day mantle clock with the Sonora bell chimes. The clock is 15 inches wide, 13 and 1/2 inches tall and 7 inches deep. Heavy clock at 14 pounds. The clock has two movements and they have both been cleaned and tested so the clock is in good operating condition for both time and chime functions.
One of the movements, for the time is marked 89M while the movement for the chime is marked 90. The clock plays the Westminster melody on the bells at each quarter hour and then also strikes the number of the hour on the hour,, great sounds. The clock has the chime shut off lever on the right lower side. The wood case is covered with the adamantine or celluloid material and is in good overall condition. There are some small dings on the corners but presents quite well for the age.The metal dial is marked with the Seth Thomas name and the Sonora Chime words. The dial has darkened to a copper like color. The glass over the dial is good and the front bezel operates correctly. There is a decent original label inside the rear door.
Four brass button feet on the bottom in good shape. The pendulum appears to be original to the clock while the key is a correct replacement. There is some damage/wood loss to the lowest part of the back cover, left side. Area is stable and of course doesn't really impact the appearance of the clock but want to avoid any surprise.
