Antique Seth Thomas Westminster Chime Mantel Clock. Up for sale is this really nice antique Seth Thomas mantel clock featuring the lovely Westminster Chime. This clock is dark mahogany and measures 22 1/4" wide x 6 3/4" deep x 9 7/8 tall and weighs about 12 pounds. The dial is metal with raised brass numerals and brass hands. The case has the original finish with minor crazing consistent with its age which only adds to it's character.

The convex front glass door is in good condition as is the movement door although it is missing the small knob which is not really needed but could easily be replaced. The movement is marked with the Seth Thomas logo and the numbers 113 and 22179. The brass key is included.

The movement has a lever to silence the chimes if desired. The 113 movement, introduced in about 1921 is a large heavy movement considered by many to be one of the best movements made for a mantle clock. There is a small remnant of the old label on the back of the case with only part of the number 7 left and most likely this is a model 75. We have tested the clock for the last few weeks and it is in good running condition and chimes as intended on each quarter hour and the correct number of hours on each hour. You will not be disappointed with this classic clock.
