BADUF German Westminster Chime Mantel Clock 1950s Mid Century Walnut Working

This mid-century German mantel clock is signed BADUF on the dial, the mark of the Badische Uhrenfabrik Furtwangen, a Black Forest clockmaker. It has the classic "Napoleon hat" shape. The sculpted wing case is finished in a sunburst-shaded walnut veneer, with brass base trim and tapered brass feet. The cream dial has a walnut center, applied brass numerals and swept brass hands. Working: keeps time, strikes the hours and plays the Westminster quarter chime on rod gongs.

8-day mechanical, key-wound, three-train movement. Includes the original factory instruction leaflet in Italian and Spanish. It is rarely found with these clocks. Mid-Century Modern design with a sculpted wing case and brass accents.

There is light edge wear and some scuffing on the case finish, and minor oxidation on the movement plates. It has not been professionally serviced, but it runs and chimes as of listing. The pendulum is removed and wrapped separately, the chime hammers are secured, and the clock is double-boxed for safe transit.
