Elliott London Vintage Walnut Mantel WHITTINGTON WESTMINSTER WORKS 1/4 Chimes

This clock is made by the Elliott of England. Beautifully shaped and grained walnut case with a solid brass door fitted with bevelled glass. The dial is brass with a silvered chapter ring and is set out with Roman numerals with small Arabic numerals above, and it is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers. The four corner are adorned with lovely brass spandrels.

The movement a superb quality 8-day with 1/4 chimes - Westminster and Whittington. The chimes sound each quarter with a gradual increase to a full chime and strike with the hour. The movement is fitted with a high end jewelled lever escapement. Approximate dimensions are 8 7/8" tall and 12" by 4 3/4 at the base. The clock features a white metal face with black Roman numerals and hands.

The clock case is in good condition and retains the original finish. It has some minor scratches to the finish and very small chip on the veneer.

This antique clock will only go up in value if properly maintained. It is a great find. A must for the clock collector.

Mantel clocks are always decorative and extremely ornate, fit for individuals who love to appreciate the fine things t. A super addition to any collection and a wonderful display piece.
