This beautiful Emperor mantel clock is in excellent condition on the inside and out, though lately it hasn't been running for more than a day or so at a time. I had it professionally cleaned and maintained when I bought it about 10 years ago, and I suspect it needs another cleaning. After I had it cleaned, it ran beautifully for years and kept perfect time on an 8 day wind. There is one very tiny mark on the glass bezel, and I've included a closeup picture of it so you can get a good look at it.
It's very difficult to see, but it's still there and you should be aware of it. This clock has a beautiful Westminster chime on the quarter hour and plays the full chime and counts the hour on the hour. It has a beautiful dark wood finish with brass accents, such as claw feet and lion ring handles on each end. Each side of the face is accented with three wooden pillars with brass caps and pedestals.
The key and pendulum are included in a well packaged bag inside the clock. The entire back panel comes off and is held closed by four turn-levers. It measures 16" long, 12.25" high and 6.25 wide (including the feet). When I bought this clock, I was told it was an antique, though I don't know exactly how old it is.
The mechanism looks pretty new to be an antique, so I'd be inclined to believe that the movement may NOT be antique, even if the case is. I originally bought it just for it's beauty (in appearance and the chime quality), not for any antique value. They're usually high enough as it is.
