The front door of the clock has foliate carving at the top, supported by twin turned Romanesque columns each side. The upper section shows a circular dial with a deep domed glass. The lower section features 6 panels of bevelled glass - Astragal glazing, through which the large Brass pendulum is visible as it swings side to side.
The base is stepped backwards, with twin level adjustment screws. The clock dial is in a Matt satin silver with Roman numerals. Surrounded by a wide brass bezel. The mechanism is a 3 train movement, striking the hour on a single chime rod and the quarters by way of graduating Westminster Chimes on 4 chime rods. Gustav Becker is considered one if the best 19th century German Clockmakers. Westminster Chimes are a full bodied tone, and the hour strike has a mid range tone.Size, 90 tall x 38 wide x 21 deep cms.
