LARGE ANTIQUE GERMAN WURTTEMBERG WESTMINSTER CHIME 8 DAY MANTEL CLOCK c1910
This is a fantastic and stunning Antique German Westminster Chime, 8 Day Mantel Clock, made c1910, which is in working order and in good condition, with just a little age-related wear to the wooden case, but nothing major. The movement is marked Patented in all Countries and Made in Wurttemberg plus the number 1721. The Pendulum arm is also inscribed with the letters DGMS. Westminster chimes sound every quarter of the hour with additional dongs on the hour for the number of the hour. To the side of the case is a knob to pull out that prevents the Westminster chimes from sounding.
It is of a large size with a beautiful solid and heavy wooden case, which measures approximately 32cm wide, 21cm deep and 48cm high. Also included is a key to wind up the movement. As with all mechanical clocks, even for those in good running order, no claims are made regarding accuracy of time keeping and It can be easily be adjusted if it is found to be running too fast or slow over time, by adjusting the height of the pendulum bob slightly, by turning the screw attached to the bottom of it.
