A large decorative presentation, 8 Day, Westminster chimes mantel clock retailed by Northern Goldsmiths the clock is in working order keeping good time, chimes every quarter and the relevant amount of strikes on the hour. The large mahogany case measures 20" in length, 91/2" at its highest and 6 3/4" deep, to the front the case has decorative designs around the dial and lower body, the dial is 6" in diameter with black Arabic numbers on a silvered back the words Northern Goldsmiths Newcastle upon Tyne are printed across the upper dial, the dial is surrounded by a brass bezel with convex glass. To the front base of the case the presentation plaque reads " Presented to William Farrall esq by the Heworth colliery band and workmen's committee as a token of their appreciation on the occasion of their winning the people's challenge shield Crystal Palace 1950".
