Louis XIV TWO CHIME Revere Telechron motored clock Westminster Canterbury
Vintage 1930 Telechron motored clock Revere Two Chime Westminster/Canterbury Chime model "Louis XIV". Clock runs good, quietly, keeps accurate time. Chimes every quarter hour Westminster Chime sequence, and strikes each hour counting out the hour. Very good tone chime rods. However, it doesn't STOP chiming. I found a small return spring inside the case(pictured). I use the key supplied to turn off the chimes. Switch to Canterbury Chime with that key on the shaft at the 5. All 6 rods sound great. The original finish looks pretty good on the front, the top and back is aged, some minor scratches and blemishes, missing front left end of the carved foot. Still presents well on the shelf. Mahogany veneer on top and back, Rosewood veneer on the front.
Set the time by advancing the minute hand, Back door opens to read the instructions label. Brass finish is worn off the sash and the hinge is broken, metal dial face, black raised numbers, black metal hands. Good beveled edge round convex dial glass. Good newer power cord with plug and original removable GE plug into the back of the case.
Stands 13-1/2 inches tall to the finial, 22-1/4 inches wide at the base, 6-1/2 inches deep. Weighs 9 pounds, + packaging.
