Please read the description carefully. This clock has been serviced and runs and sounds perfect. This neat old clock was made by the Ansonia Clock Company in NYC, N. USA during the 1920's.
It has a large original Westminster chime movement that is complete. It runs keeping perfect time and and chimes sounds like a grandfather's clock!
In case you are not familiar with Westminster Chimes, these are the ones that play the'Big Ben' tune every 15 minutes; 4 notes on the quarter; 8 notes on the ½ hour; 12 notes at the ¾ hour; and then the full 16 note tune on the hour, followed by the hour toll, i. 1 toll at 1:00, 2 tolls at 2:00, etc. It has a great old signed Ansonia silvered dial that is in very nice shape for a clock of this age, with a solid brass bezel and beveled edge glass crystal. It measures 21 1/4" wide x 10" high x 6 3/4 deep and weighs over 12 lbs.In the recent repair the spring, key, spring barrel, and nine bushings has been replaced by a master clock repairman. This clock appears that it was given as a gift for someone that has provided service for the following church. First Reformed Congregation, Quakertown PA.
