This beautiful KIENZLE mantle clock has the most lovely Westminster Chimes that I have ever heard. It almost sounds like there's a full size grandfather clock in the house!
It has an 8-day movement with 1/2 hour Westminster Chimes and hour "gong like" strikes. The clock arms, numbers and glassed facing are brass. It has three openings for the key (included) to wind: One is for the time, another for the 1/2 hour chime and the third for the hour strike. The casing has what is called a "piano finish" which has some light sun fading.
All the inside components are brass. It also has a silencer knob to keep the clock from chiming. The bottom side has a label marked 58/4242. I don't know what this means but my guess is that this clock is #58 out of 4242 made.
NOTE: This clock has been oiled by a clock specialist who tested it and deemed it in great working condition! I had it wound for two weeks and it kept PERFECT time. It will be securely packaged and insured.
CONDITION: Overall, very good to excellent condition. As previously mentioned, the piano veneer finish shows some wear or fading. The white facing (where the numbers are) has some spotting (see last two pics), probably due to storage, but then, this actually ads vintage character to the clock! This is a clock that will give you years of use and ad charm to any décor.
