MUSICAL SKELETON CLOCK triple fusee WESTMINSTER or WHITTINGTON CHIMES on 8 BELLS. Vintage musical skeleton clock made by Classic Clocks in the ealy 1980s. Offered in good working order with original pendulum and key. The glass dome is free to collect but i will not post it.
Based on the classic antique clocks of a century earlier this beautifully made clock has a triple line fusee, 8 day mechanism from a 9 pillar heavy gauge gilt brass frame in elaborate design. The clock keeps good time and chimes the quarter hours (slightly early on 30 and 45) on 8 bells whilst striking the hour on a ninth bell.
There is a choice of westminster or whittington chimes selected via a lever at the top. The clock is mounted on a granite plinth which contributes to the pre-packed weight of 9 kg. The clock on plinth (less dome) stands 17" (43.5cm) high whilst the plinth is 14" (36cm) wide and 8.5 (21.5cm) deep. The dial is 6.25 diameter.
