Large Fine Louis XVI Style Gilt Ormolu Boulle Clock Highest quality having a German 8 Day striking movement & pendulum. This exceptionally large and beautiful. Franz Hermle chiming Westminster Bracket Mantel Clock. This is an exquisite vintage 8 Day bracket clock which has been created in a wonderful Louis XV style. The case is a pretty waisted shape and has wonderful elaborate brass work. With a striking walnut background which has been profusely inlaid. To both the front and sides with flowers and scroll work which sets it off beautifully. The case is sitting on four Rococo style feet and the case is decorated with beautiful decorative mounts. The attention to detail is superb as you will note from the photographs. The front door opens to allow winding of the clock.
The back also has a door that opens for easy access for the pendulum to be hung. The dial is a lovely embossed brass and is set out with Roman Numerals. On individual cartouches and is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers. Having embossed gilt circular dial inset on face with enamel hour plaques and further case with seated Bugle Boy Putto surmount above a glazed door and sides and applied gilt metal figure Gorgeous and from a fine estate.
Westminster Quarters chime with 5 gong rods. It beats the half hour , the quarter hour, and the full hours, a sound given by 5 hammer that it beats to 5 tubolar reed. Franz Hermle & Sohn, Gosheim, GERMANY who were founded in 1922. The clock is happily ticking away and keeping good time and the movement is lovely and clean as can be seen from the photographs. The movement is accessed via a door to the rear. The clock chimes it strikes on the half past then strikes each of the hours with a'ting tang' on the hour.The clock comes complete with it's winding key and pendulum. Very Beautiful not to be missed. The clock is in good meccanic conditions! The wind up of the clock lass about a week, key included!!
