Original Seth Thomas Inlaid Gothic Chime Clock No. 70, Westminster Chime c. 1928

Original Seth Thomas Inlaid Gothic Chime Clock No. Absolutely original mahogany case with inlaid light wood decoration. There are only very minor blemishes and imperfections commensurate with age. Everything about this clock is untouched and original.

Original front and back doors; and original hardware. Both doors open, close and latch properly. Label inside back door is crisp, clear and clean.

Molded bottom and feet are intact without any chips and/or chunks missing. Case has never been refinished. Measurements are 15H x 11-½W x 8D.

Original Seth Thomas Large No. This clock is coming from my personal collection and has been running and keeping very accurate time for quite some time now.

I have not overhauled this movement. Just oiled it when I got it and it has been running ever since. Clock chimes the Westminster chimes on 4 original tuned rods and counts the hours at the top of the hour on a 5. This clock also retains its original chime rod locking mechanism.

Movement is stamped with the famous ST in a diamond/circle Seth Thomas logo and MADE IN U. Also stamped in the back plate near the bottom is SETH THOMAS THOMASTON, CONN. Beautiful and also original pierced brass dial mask surrounding a silvered chapter ring with black Arabic numerals. They are very bright and very little blemishing to mention. Numerals are crisp and legible; along with the decoration and the words on the sub dials (one sub dial is the chime on/off selector & the other sub dial is the regulator for this clock).

Dial is marked SETH THOMAS above the numeral 6 and SETH THOMAS MADE IN THE U. At the very bottom in the brass trim. The glass in this clock is the original along with the original glass retainer installed in the door. Glass is free from chips and/or cracks.

Believed to be the original brass key (cant be for certain, but looks to be correct). Absolutely the original brass Seth Thomas pendulum bob.

Original, black Serpentine hands along with the original sub dial selector hands. This is a very quality and highly collectible chime clock for a later model clock. This is a very nice clock with a no reserve starting price far below its value.
