99 AMERICAN WALNUT - 1928. Offered today is this beautiful, one of a kind Seth Thomas Chime No. 99 in American Walnut and was produced around the year of 1928. The finish is original and not altered which keeps this clock at a high antique value with minimal man made character marks which the pictures show but worth mentioning.

This clock has a strong, smooth running rebuilt 124 movement that has been keeping excellent time for the past six months. I planned on keeping this one in my personal collection which is why pictures are not shown of the disassembled movement. The movement was completely rebuilt in June of 2025 and all three springs where replaced with proper new springs. A lot of great features are equipped on this model like a beautiful original silvered dial that shows raised bronze Arabic numbers that can be seen clearly from a distance. Fancy bronze serpentine shaped hour and minute hands.

Nice burled inlaid panel below the dial. A nice scroll like design that runs from each side of the 3 and 9 then stops at each end as a rolled up scroll. The contour design of the base gives this clock an appeal like none other. No scratches or chips on the original convex beveled glass, while the golden original finish of the machined clasp brass bezel and the back door opens and close properly as they should. This clock comes with a chime lock to prevent the chimes from rattling during transportation, a silent chime option to mute the quarter-hours only and a model label on the bottom that identifies the model which is not common. The leather in the hammer tips are in great shape striking on the best sounding Mayland chime rods which you can see and hear each quarter hour followed by the full Westminster chime and hour strike on the video provided in this listing. The classic shape allows this clock to go with any style in your homes décor. The original pendulum bob and the original two-sided key come with the clock. Every aspect of this clock is fully functional. Disassemble the entire clock and movement myself completely.

Install Seth Thomas parts on the movement if needed. Bush all worn pivot holes with high quality Bergeon bronze bushings as needed. Clean the entire movement ultrasonically.

Clean the original dial careful not to alter its original condition. Clean bezel, parts and chime rods by hand. Clean the outside of the clock by hand with mild cleaners as well as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand. Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each quarter-hour and hour.

Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed while the clock is level to ensure accuracy for many generations. Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come. Test the clock for a minimum of two weeks to ensure peak and proper performance for the new owner. Smoke free, pet free home. All clocks are cleaned removing odors.
