5 Sonora Chime Adamantine Mantel Clock with 4 Bell Westminster Chimes. Missing one of the column tops but you have one to copy from. Good springs cleaned sometime in the past springs wound down, clock is running striking but should be cleaned. From 1923, Seth Thomas offered Sonora chime mantel clocks for sale. This is the #5 chime clocks and plays Westminister chimes on a nest of 4 bells with 5 hammers.

The case is made of Adamantine, a reddish streaked celluloid veneer that was vacuum formed over inexpensive wood and glued together. The case is just over 14" high at the peak, 11" wide, and 7 1/2 deep. It has a 4 1/2 brass face that shows some age.

The entire original paper label Directions for Setting Chime Clocks is on the back cover. One inside brass plate is stamped Made in America 89AE, with a second stamped 90 Near the bottom of the interior edge is a piece of wood stamped SONORA PAT FEB 18 1908.

Another wonderful detail is the interior pendulum bob. Could be A beautiful piece when restored!
