This clock uses a five-rod, five-hammer configuration. Four rods play the Westminster melody at the quarter hours. One rod strikes the hour. The movement is the correct and original Seth Thomas 113A, clearly stamped and unmodified. The chime can be enabled or silenced using the chime/silent control on the dial.
The arched mantel case presents very well in a classic black finish, suitable for both traditional and transitional interiors. The original silvered dial shows attractive, honest age patina consistent with a genuine vintage clock.
This clock remains fully mechanical, key-wound, and has not been converted to quartz. Five hammers striking five rods. Light, normal age-related wear only.
Chime Type: 5 rods / 5 hammers. Strike: Hour strike on separate rod. Case Style: Arched mantel clock. Collectors of American mechanical clocks.
