Superb Elliott Westminster Chime break front case Mantel Clock Needs TLC 2

SUPERB ELLIOTT OF LONDON WESTMINSTER CHIME MANTEL CLOCK c1950 Listing some of my Elliott clocks of which I used to collect, probably having 20 or so. This one hasn't been out of a box since a house move 15 years ago!

Elliott produced quality clocks, typically retailed through higher end jewellers and other stores. Often they were presentation pieces upon retirement, weddings etc. Walnut veneer case, break front/ curved style with ebonised trim that continues around the sides. Raised on 6 chrome bun feet to match the chrome bezel. Stamped with model number 504 underneath.

I have given the case a wipe over with a beeswax spray to make it a bit more presentable! Westminster Chime 8 day movement with the characteristic crackle appearance of the lacquer. The clock has its suspension, leader and pendulum. It retains an original T shaped Elliott key! It measures 10 inches high, 13 inches wide and 5 inches deep.

The dial is in good condition, I have run a little oil into the hinges of the bezel and back door as they felt stiff with being in storage. The movement is ticking though the chime and strike are not working.

I'm sure a routine service and clean will be all that is needed. It is evidently gummed up and the springs tightly wound. I will sell as is rather than remove the movement to peg out and oil.
