Vintage 60's Bentima 8 Day Whittington Westminster St Michael Chime Mantel Clock. This is a Vintage 60's Bentima 8 Day Whittington Westminster St Michael Chime Mantel Clock.
This is in excellent condition and is in full working order. It has a stunning walnut body in the shape of Napoleon's Hat. The walnut has a sunburst finish, with a glossy sheen. There is a mild patina, which it has acquired through time. The face is a circular, cream chapter ring on the walnut face with brass numbers and hands.
The clock is marked: Bentima 8DAY in the centre of the face. There are three winding trains, meaning the clock will chime every quarter of an hour.
To the right of the number three, there is a silencing switch for the chime, where you can also select which chime you want. The face has a brass framed, convex glass casing, which is intact and is in excellent condition. The clock stands on two flat panel feet. To the back of the clock is a door to the mechanism chamber.
The door is intact and in excellent condition. On the inside of the door there is a bracket to hang the key. The mechanism has been very well maintained.
There are eight chime bars, which produce a the different chimes. The mechanism is marked: FHS GERMANY. The clock has a floating balance which is a stunning feature and it runs excellently. This is a great clock. If you have any questions please let me know.
