Vintage Daneker Mantel Clock Westminster Chimes Not Running No Wood Skirt
Missing Wood Skirt to Case. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself! The Daneker Clock Company was based in Fallston, MD (no longer in business) and would have made the case and assembled it.
The movement was made in Germany. We can therefore better control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don't have the overhead that the higher end houses and galleries pass on to their clients. Nice looking mantel clock for you here by Daneker.
The clock has a nice dark color to the wood case. There are no chips, cracks or repairs to the case. The four wood columns are in place and intact.
Nice looking wood topper with scrolling that is firmly affixed to the top of the clock. Please note that the wood skirt along the base of the clock is no longer there.
Probably damaged sometime in the past and the previous owner just removed. The door pull is in place. The three brass finials are also in place. Good looking metal clock face. Antique white background with blue and gold coloring at the four corners. Says Daneker in cursive on the clock face and then roman numerals done in black. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock.The movement was made in Germany per what noted on the clock face. The clock does not run.
Will for a few seconds and then stops. The pendulum bob has a gold finish, a little dented with finish loss. The clock will do the Westminster chimes at the 15 minute marks, and then strike the hour on the hour, when the hands are advanced manually. There is no representation that the clock is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order.The Daneker Mantel Clock is 19-7/8" tall, by 12-7/8" across, by 6.25 wide. The clock face is 6.75 across.
