Mahn & Co Clock Repairs. Vintage Art Deco Westminster Chime Mantel Clock. Chrome Bezel · Westminster Chime · Fully Serviced. CIRCA 1930s · ART DECO. A handsome vintage Art Deco mantel clock with a beautifully chunky, arched case, silvered dial and chrome bezel.

Where earlier mantel clocks favoured brass fittings and softer curves, this one shows the shift toward the bolder, more architectural lines and cooler metal tones that define the Art Deco period. The result is a strong, stylish piece with real presence on the mantelpiece. The case is finished in a deep, dark polish over close-grained oak, its broad domed top and clean geometric silhouette a world away from the fussier Victorian styles that came before it. It has been sympathetically cleaned and wax polished to bring back the depth of the original finish while keeping its honest, well-loved character. The movement is German-made, stamped "FOREIGN" on the dial as required for import into Britain at the time.

It drives a full Westminster chime on five rods together with the hour strike, with a chime/silent selector above the dial so you can choose to hear it ring or run silently. Movement removed from the case, cleaned and inspected. Mainsprings treated with Novostar oil. Pivots lubricated with synthetic clock oil. Chime train regulated across all five rods.

Case revived and wax polished by hand. Bench-tested for timekeeping and strike. Condition: Fully serviced, cleaned, oiled and tested.

The case has been sympathetically cleaned and polished, retaining attractive age-related character with light marks and patina consistent with vintage use. The dial presents very well with gentle age-related wear. No maker's name is visible on the case, dial or movement. Included: Clock, key and pendulum.
