Vintage German Westminster Chiming Mantel Clock. This is a beautifully made vintage German mantel clock, dating to the 1930s-1940s, featuring a traditional three-train Westminster chime movement. It produces a rich, warm, and unhurried Westminster melody - the classic sound associated with quality mechanical clocks of the period. German clocks from this era are well regarded for their reliability, precision engineering, and excellent tonal quality. This example is no exception and has been carefully restored to ensure it performs exactly as it should. The clock has recently undergone a careful mechanical service and restoration, with attention paid not only to reliability but also to sound quality and correct operation. All three trains (time, strike and chime) cleaned and correctly lubricated. Chime and strike mechanisms set up and tested through all quarters and midnight. New hammer leathers/pads fitted to restore the correct Westminster tone. Clock set in beat and tested to ensure smooth, consistent running.

The result is a clock that runs reliably and produces a deep, refined, and balanced Westminster chime, with a sound that feels calm, confident, and appropriately "expensive". The wooden case has been gently cleaned and preserved, retaining its original finish and honest patina.
